Headmen of competing automobile firms choose to clash on the track by sponsoring distinct racing squads. Chairman Gapporin signs on Okkanabichi, the top driver, whereas Chairman Misaki recruits Riki Kazama, a novice pilot for the airborne machine called Machine Hiryu. Blending motifs from Speed Racer and Time Bokan, this Tatsunoko work hits the same marks, featuring Riki's adorable partner Nana, a pint‑size mechanic Chuta, a charming monkey and dog, plus comic, stylish antagonists in the backdrop. Early contributions from renowned artists such as Yoshitaka Amano and Kunio Okawara remain firmly within the studio style. Comic adaptations appeared in several periodicals, including Terebi Magazine and Terebi Land.
