In ancient times, a monk called Myoue possessed the power to animate anything he sketched. He resided quietly with his spouse Koto—a black rabbit transformed into a human—and their trio of offspring: Yakushimaru, Kurama, and Yase. One dawn, the regional high priest judged that Myoue's creations were causing excessive trouble for villagers and demanded a remedy. Consequently, the family clandestinely escaped to an alternate realm forged by Myoue himself—the city of Mirrors. All was tranquil until Myoue and Koto abruptly disappeared. Their three progeny were left to govern the metropolis, and Yakushimaru assumed Myoue's title and responsibilities. Isolated in this otherworld, their plight intensified when a young maiden—also named Koto—plummeted from above and proclaimed she sought the elder Myoue and Koto. Equipped with a colossal hammer and two unruly companions, Koto could very well be the catalyst to liberate all from the everlasting paper citadel. Their journey will determine whether the city survives or dissolves into mythic ink for all eternity.
