Following prophetic visions that pinpoint the whereabouts of the King of Salvation, Jeanne Kaguya d'Arc escapes with the polymath Leonardo da Vinci from the West Star toward the East Star. There she meets Nobunaga Oda—the heir of a regional lord who, after suffering a savage defeat at the hands of an opposing clan, has vowed to conquer the world alongside his companions.
Soon convinced that Nobunaga truly embodies the King of Salvation, Jeanne declares her loyalty to the Oda house. At the same time, King Arthur, sovereign of the West Star, dispatches his merciless commander Gaius Julius Caesar and an army of mechanized war machines to seize Nobunaga's world and claim the Holy Grail. Though Kaguya regards Arthur as the King of Destruction, Nobunaga "The Fool" – who christened his own battle suit after that moniker – displays reckless conduct on the field, casting doubt over his leadership.
With assistance from Himiko, the Yamato Queen, Nobunaga and his followers must unite to surmount calamities, heal from treachery, and ultimately rescue the world.
