The Space Empire lost its unity. The nobles, having forgotten their subjects, were actively settling disputes among themselves. Vetti Lunardu Sforta managed to usurp power and proclaim himself emperor, putting an end to the turmoil. However, for ordinary citizens nothing changed – or it worsened. The Army of People's Unity, led by the young Michel Vorban, a scion of a noble house who has sided with the people, is not willing to accept this situation. His allies call him "Savior" and expect a miracle from Michel. But the rebel leader himself is not so sure of his chosen status… and one day, when Michel"s ship was seized by the imperial fleet, he is aided by someone in whom the head of the revolutionaries recognizes the forthcoming Savior.
