In a realm of soaring airships and gliders, young Sheeta is seized by state operatives who hunt for her enigmatic crystal amulet. Confined aboard a vessel, despair seems inevitable—until marauding pirates attack the ship. Amid the chaos, Sheeta seizes her chance and slips away from her captors. On the run she encounters Pazu, a hopeful youth who longs to find the legendary airborne citadel of Laputa. Together they set off to uncover that skyward fortress, but the government agents soon resume their pursuit, intent on claiming Laputa for selfish gain.
