Ayumu Aikawa, a 16‑year‑old high schooler, is tragically killed while probing an eerie house. He soon awakens beside a mysterious armored girl named Eucliwood Hellscythe, who confesses to being a necromancer that resurrected him, turning him into a zombie.
With newfound immortality, Ayumu vows to hunt down his killer. While exploring a cemetery one day he meets a spirited girl called Haruna, who battles a bear with a chainsaw while wearing a magical‑girl costume. After she slays the beast, Haruna attempts to erase Ayumu"s memories of her, but he instead siphons her magic. Devoid of power, Haruna demands that Ayumu assume her job hunting the bizarre monsters called "Megalo," which stalk humans and spread terror.
Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? chronicles the everyday adventures of Ayumu, now a zombie, as he embraces his absurd new existence in a world where the supernatural is ordinary.
