Jim works as an innkeeper alongside his companion, the mouse Gran. One day a strange visitor arrives at the tavern and leaves behind a map. The parchment indicates an island that holds hidden riches. Consequently, the pair sails in their modest boat, chasing their aspirations and abandoning the inn behind them. Yet it appears that others have discovered the chart, as they encounter Captain Silver and his crew of unruly pirates. Jim, Gran, and their new ally Kathy strive to outpace them in the ensuing treasure chase across the vast ocean in twilight.
