The Japanese label those who retreat from society as hikikomori—individuals who remain locked in their homes for weeks or even months. For Sasami Tsukuyomi, who is trying to survive her freshman year of high school while still a recluse, the term carries weight. Luckily she shares an apartment with her older brother Kamiomi, who happens to teach at the very school she is enrolled in. She also has a "Brother Surveillance Device" that streams his daily life to her computer, offering a virtual window onto the outside world and, in theory, a way to reacquaint herself with social interaction. In practice, the device mainly shows her Kamiomi"s encounters with three bizarre Yagami sisters who seem to have had their ages reversed and possess peculiar interests in him. Then the plot takes a bizarre turn… Are there magical abilities at play? Does everything melt into chocolate? Is the web‑based reality warping Sasami"s mind, or is the universe itself unraveling?
