The world has entered its "Spectral Era." The planet is engulfed by a dry, lifeless desert. Yet humanity has not perished; thanks to their knowledge of alchemy, they continue living on a small fertile patch of the dying world. To prevent the "Spectral Earth" from one day swallowing even this little that humans possess, they keep developing alchemy and attempt to revive the old technologies of a bygone era. Our story begins in Kolseyt, a city bordering the "Spectral Earth," where two alchemists meet at the Bureau of Special Investigations. One, Fiscario Logic, arrived from the Capital and trained in all the latest alchemical techniques; the other is a local girl, descendant of an alchemist—Maler Esca. Logic and Esca have sworn to use their alchemy for the benefit of people and humanity, but can they stand against an faceless foe that slowly devours the planet? Watch and find out.
