Intent on mastering painting, she arrives under intense pressure: her parents demand that she tops her cohort within six months or return home. Lili"s ambition sharpens when she meets Kit Church, an aristocratic prodigy famed for his skill and aloofness. While Kit has dedicated himself wholly to art, Lili"s earnestness and perseverance begin to alter his outlook.
