Miko Kurono, better known on stream as Necronomico, is a relatively obscure gamer who entertains a modest following. She has been paying Mayu Mayusaka"s medical expenses—her close friend and fellow caster—since she and several other popular streamers inexplicably slipped into comas three months earlier.
Running low on cash, Miko consents to join a clandestine beta trial of an avant‑garde VR title. Upon completing the opening stage, she and six other casters confront the Old Ones—time‑worn, malevolent deities who have resurfaced to seize Earth but are presently confined within the virtual realm. Miko"s fury erupts when she learns that Cthulhu has assumed Mayu"s visage and is the force behind her ailment.
Together with the others, Miko becomes entangled in the Old Ones" perverse contest known as the Cosmic Horror Show, where every player"s elimination spells disaster for humanity. Yet knowing that the victor receives one wish, Miko resolves to triumph in the game and rescue Mayu. Her determination fuels her every move, as she battles not only the gods but also her own doubts.
