During a trip to the mall, high‑schooler Ruri Tanigawa becomes enchanted by a crystal pendant. She had always imagined dreamily wearing it. Its steep price forces her to imagine it only—until her mother mentions a nearby mountain range, famed for rugged peaks, valleys, and mineral deposits where Ruri"s grandfather once unearthed countless gems. Determined to gather materials for her own jewelry, Ruri heads there and encounters Nagi Arato, a graduate student who eagerly guides her.
When they reach a massive quartz outcrop, Ruri falls in love with it. Inspired, she persuades Nagi to instruct her further on mineralogy. With every new finding and each lesson, Ruri discovers that minerals hold more value than their cost alone and deeply inspire her creativity.
