After completing high school, Natsuko Hirose launches her animation career with enthusiasm. Her skill rapidly develops, and she soon debuts as a director, earning early acclaim. The debut series becomes an enormous success, igniting a cultural craze and establishing her reputation as a rising prodigy in the industry. Her following assignment is to produce a romantic comedy film centered on first love! Yet, never having experienced romance herself, Natsuko finds it hard to grasp the idea of first love, and consequently cannot draft a storyboard, halting production. One afternoon she collapses while sketching the plot in the crowded studio and awakens inside the universe of her cherished childhood anime, 'A Tale of Perishing.' and discovers that the world is alive with color and wonder today.
