Takafumi is making breakfast. While his wife Makoto eats, she checks the clock and rushes to work. She appears to be occupied with assisting her senior teacher, Yasuno, lately.
That afternoon, Takafumi receives a summons to the president"s office. His long‑term ambition was to open his own shop, and just days earlier he had discovered a location through Yasuno"s mediation; the school president, Shiraishi, even offered to invest. In the chairwoman"s office he is instructed to visit the shop over the weekend and ready it for launch.
On the morning of that weekend, Takafumi tells Makoto he will be away from home for several days. She worries about staying at the school late to help Yasuno‑sensei, but he convinces her: "Yasuno‑sensei will manage."
That evening, while Makoto works in the staff room, she gets a LINE from Takafumi: "This will finish soon. The other side is also fine. I"ll explain more when I return tomorrow."
When Yasuno arrives with a cup of coffee, Makoto replies to the LINE. She accepts the drink, but shortly afterward collapses. Yasuno watches Makoto"s body on the floor with a grim grin.
