After a disappointing stint teaching at a public high school that forced him to step away from work, Haruaki Abe enthusiastically accepted a position at Hyakki Academy. Though still fearful, the new instructor is determined to succeed this time. His resolve shifts abruptly when he learns that every student at the school is a supernatural youkai, leaving him starkly out of place as the sole human. As the newly appointed homeroom teacher, Abe instantly attracts pranks from the mischievous class because of his quick-to-fear nature. Yet as he gradually uncovers the secrets of these beings and discovers more about himself, bonding with the unruly group may prove less difficult than he imagined, and their school days grow increasingly lively. Even so, the challenges he faces forge friendships and deepen his resolve to nurture their unique talents.
