Haruka Kiyomine and Kei Kaname had long been hailed as the most dominant pitcher‑catcher pair in middle‑school baseball. Known as the "General," Kaname"s sharp tactics paired with Kiyomine"s explosive throws, crushing the dreams of many hopefuls who wanted to reach the big leagues.
High‑school freshman Tarou Yamada is one such former dreamer. After giving up competition, he enrolls at Kotesashi High School—a plain public school with no baseball team—and discovers that his new classmates are the legendary duo who once shattered his own ambitions.
To his shock, he learns that amnesia has turned the once‑steady General into a crude class clown. With baseball no longer on his mind, Kaname dragged a disillusioned Kiyomine to Kotesashi simply because the school was close to where they lived.
As Kotesashi forms a fledgling baseball club, Yamada meets other former idols who have also stepped away from the game. Though reluctant, he believes that if he can persuade these talented players to return to the field, they might realize their dreams and win a national championship—provided they can endure Kaname"s relentless joking.
