Following Mash Burnedead's encounter with Magia Lupus, the truth of his abilities has surfaced publicly. The brief jubilation is cut short when the Bureau of Magic orders Mash before a panel of Divine Visionaries, who unanimously pronounce that he must face punishment and death. Yet the sinister covert group Innocent Zero seizes the proceeding, insisting that Mash be spared.
Mash demonstrates he can confront Innocent Zero, but the Divine Visionaries' judgment stays firm. Fortunately, Mash gains unforeseen support from Divine Visionary Rayne Ames and Principal Wahlberg Baigan, who manage to postpone his execution until Innocent Zero is vanquished. Mash may survive only if, by year's end, he secures the title of Divine Visionary candidate for the forthcoming cycle, ensuring his future role within the mystical hierarchy and authority.
