After receiving a text promising to grant any wish, high‑schooler Gorō Ono satisfies his twisted fantasies with classmate Sawa Honoka. Yet, to his shock, the wish‑grantor materializes as a demon named Lall, whose crimson eyes glow. The demon's voice echoed through the empty hallway, warning that failure would mean eternal servitude to a higher power. She explains that he has entered a contest to decide the next deity of the world; each participant must battle others until only one remains, and that victor will ascend as the new god. While Gorō struggles to accept this reality, Sawa strikes him with a colossal blade, revealing she too is involved in the sinister race for divinity.
Each contestant receives a unique ability. Gorō kills his peer using the "Holy Book of the Fool," but every use drains him; his vitality deteriorates with each invocation. As he uncovers the bizarre nature of this contest, Gorō must secure allies and master his newfound power before he loses everything.
