Winter draws near, and Myne—now an apprentice priestess—must ready herself for a stay at the sanctuary and the forthcoming Dedication Ceremony. Yet her vast wisdom and prodigious mana have attracted numerous perilous figures, all eager to seize Myne.
To shield her, the Head Priest appoints a guard and counsels that she be taken under a noble"s wing, a choice that forces her to abandon her kin. Myne resists; the Head Priest issues an ultimatum: she may remain with family until age ten, but should she prove too volatile, she will be removed at once.
Caught in this dilemma, Myne doubts her path. Regardless of the twists ahead, she will spare nothing to defend those she cherishes—even if it compels her to forsake her aspiration. The looming threat of rivals and the weight of her destiny press upon her, forcing difficult choices. She knows that each decision could alter the course of her life and those she holds dear.
