Hidden deep within the woods, far from any human presence, dwells a boy named Ryouma Takebayashi. He partakes in the unusual pastime of raising many kinds of slimes as companions. Moreover, despite his tender years, he possesses a solid build and strong affinity for spellcraft. This stems from the trials endured in his former life, after which three deities grant him a fresh opportunity to chase one aim: relish the marvels of existence.
After three years of daily peaceful isolation, Ryouma encounters individuals who will alter his present path forever. When he meets and assists a band of soldiers nursing their injured ally, the group persuades him to join them in visiting the nearby town"s ducal household. Ryouma consents, and soon sets off on an expedition to discover the expansive realm beyond his home for adventure.
