The narrative unfolds in Japan. The year is 2030 and the planet has been entirely devastated by a viral affliction called "Gibia" that morphs infected individuals into diverse monsters, depending on age, gender, and ethnicity. A samurai and a ninja from the early Edo era journey together through time and land in a shattered Japan to support a scientist developing a remedy for the disease. Together, they confront innumerable Gibia beasts, bandits, and other savage adversaries on their quest to rescue humanity together for all.
